  • Primary Backups Admin managing global EMC Networker environment with 25+ large datazones incl NDMP backups.

Primary SAN Admin managing EMC DMX and Clariion environment

  • Implemented SAN environment consisting of 40+ PowerPath enabled AIX, Linux, and Windows server, 5 DMXs, and 4 Clariions connected by 8 fiber switches in redundant fabrics.  Configured mirrored devices, BCVs, and R2 devices syncing via SRDF and SRDF/A concurrently to two disaster recovery sites.  Performed mapping, zoning, and masking using ECC, switch web interface, and Solutions Enabler symcli.
  • Instrumental in the planning and implementation of multiple 3-node Oracle 10g RAC environment on AIX running business critical, 24/7 databases.  Also implemented multiple 2 to 4 node Oracle 10g RAC environments on RHAS 3, 4, 5 running business critical and test environments.
  • Implementing and maintaining a Business Continuance / Disaster Recovery site consisting of a complete SAN of EMC DMX, Clariion, and Oracle RAC clusters, with detailed failover procedures and documentation.

  • Implemented and supported a complex system allowing insurance companies to query a dispersed, nation-wide database of individual’s prescription drug histories.
  • Worked closely with the Database Administrators to optimize performance of multiple FCAL disk arrays.
  • Assisted with the re-architecture of the hardware layout for the central-tier processing layer, reducing costs by a eliminating ¼ of the required processors while maintaining ample throughput.

  • Unix System Administrator on Sun hardware platforms including E220R, E4500, A3500, D1000, D130, and StorEdge L1000.
  • Implemented and supported a complex system dispersing information to Olympic judges, athletes, commentators, spectators, and press at 11 various sport venues across the Salt Lake area.
  • Provided 24/7 support of 147 Olympic Games Unix servers (143-E220R and 4-E4500) as a team member with 3 other System Administrators.
  • Worked closely with multiple service providers in negotiating specific, customized Service Level Agreements for Games-time.
  • Implemented a complete backup solution using Veritas NetBackup DataCenter and StorEdge L1000 jukeboxes, tuning it to complete in a small backup window using minimum bandwidth.  Prior to this a complete implementation of Solstice Backup was completed.
  • Assisted in the implementation of Big Brother system monitoring used for notification of Games-time server issues.
  • Installed, upgraded, and problem solved multiple software and hardware upgrades, working closely with developers, system testers and end users.
  • Project managed multiple simultaneous projects, effectively interfacing with many different groups in various locations around the world. 
  • Extensively documented multiple system configurations for use by future Olympic organizing committees.
